FAC, est. 1975, supports participation in the traditional folk arts, particularly dance and music. Dick guided FAC in its early days, serving on the Board of Directors in several capacities during the 1980s. He maintained FAC's sound equipment, created recordings for its music shop, supported the Dance Musicians' Development Fund, and produced an online calendar. When Dick started folk dancing in the early 1970s, he gravitated to the Folk Arts Center's international dances. He met Martha at their dances in 1975, and the rest is history....

The EEFC is a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to promote, celebrate, and educate the public about traditional and traditionally based music, dance, and cultures of the Balkans. Their annual summer camps (one on each coast) bring together a dazzling array of people, both teachers and campers, from around the world. Dick and Martha enjoyed many a summer week at these camps, where they made good friends with many people they would otherwise have never met.

WCRB, produced by WGBH, is the preeminent classical music media source for all of New England. Dick had a deep and abiding love for classical music, and a very discerning ear. He and Martha have listened to both WGBH and WCRB a lot throughout all their years together, and WCRB's stream of interesting music became increasingly important to Dick in his last months.

Contributions toward the memorial event are welcome. Any surplus will be contributed to the organizations listed on this page.
